Comprises a glass container 90x90x150mm, length x width x height. Rim shaped to hold zinc rod to accommodate the cathode, a porous pot containing a carbon rod with terminal with a mixture of powdered carbon and manganese dioxide depolarizer. Requires approx. 500ml ammonium chloride electrolyte with zinc rod and porous pot but without electrolyte. The cell produces an E.M.F. of about 1.5 V.
